As a mother, I carry more than what I can hold.
We carry lots of loads as mothers.
We carry our children.
No matter their age,
we’ll always pick them up.
They reach. They ask. We hold.

We are their safe space.
That carry can at times become heavy,
but we bear it.

The endless to-do lists and “wait I’m
forgetting something” conversations
we have with ourselves.
We carry the school schedules and sports

and every schedule we have organized in
